A/Z & Cianbro Awarded Construction Contract of Hangar at Westover Air Reserve Base
A/Z and Cianbro were recently awarded a joint-venture contract for the construction of a new 105,000 SF maintenance hangar at Westover Air Reserve Base in Chicopee, MA. The new hangar will be large enough to fit a C-5M Super Galaxy, the largest military cargo aircraft in the U.S. Air Force, which stands as tall as a seven-story building and has a 222-foot wingspan. The multi-million-dollar hangar will allow technicians to work in an indoor, state-of-the-art inspection and maintenance environment. Construction is slated to start immediately, and it is scheduled for completion in 2023.
