Pfizer selected A/Z to expand the distributed generation systems on its Groton campus with the addition of a fuel cell power plant. After A/Z installed a 10 MW combined heat and power facility on the campus several years ago, we were engaged to design and construct this new installation, which consists of two Fuel Cell Energy DFC 3000 units for a total electrical output of 5.6 MW. Thermal energy is recovered and converted to steam before being delivered to an adjacent research facility on the campus via a new heat recovery steam generator.
