Design-Build & EPCM
Delivering Comprehensive Single-Source Solutions
When a client wishes to delegate responsibility for a project, due to limited staff or experience, A/Z will design and construct the project under a single responsibility, to meet a client’s objectives and criteria. Sometimes known as a turn-key approach to project delivery, A/Z assumes financial, schedule, and quality responsibility for the satisfactory completion of the project.
As an alternative, A/Z can act as an extension of the client’s staff and provide the services necessary for complete design, procurement, and construction management of the project, as well as managing and using subcontractors for the majority of the physical construction.
Integrated Project Delivery
A New Perspective on Project Management
Integrated project delivery (IPD) is truly a collaborative practice that integrates all the project stakeholders, systems, business structures, and practices in the optimization of all potential project efficiencies. The key to IPD is effective collaboration by all parties from the beginning of the project’s life, through construction, and into the physical plant operations. Ideally, the owners, designers, consultants, builders, fabricators, and operators participate in a seamless team in which all participants work towards jointly developed objectives while sharing decision-making responsibilities, liability, and rewards. The benefits of IPD are many, and it is making its way into the mainstream for projects that require responsiveness within an integrated team environment.
Preconstruction & Procurement
The Leadership & Experience to Forge the Path Forward
As a seasoned construction manager, A/Z has developed the proven processes and systems needed to proactively program, plan, and manage projects successfully. Our team of industry veterans operates as an extension of our clients and their representatives, providing the management needed to coordinate the overall project planning and construction efforts.
Our experience has continuously shown us that a comprehensive pre-construction process is essential to the success of the construction and commissioning phases. We take the upfront planning seriously, utilizing talented managers who can lead a project through budget development, value engineering, design development, regulatory approvals, constructability assessments, and risk management at various stages of the program throughout its evolution.
Construction Management
CM Industry Veterans On Staff
If a client elects to have the engineering and design contracted separately from the construction, A/Z can act as a Construction Manager, coordinating with the client and his / her design / engineering firm. A/Z would provide the construction planning, cost and schedule control, and quality assurance, using a field-based team of construction specialists to plan and direct the activities of subcontractors and suppliers. Our team of industry veterans, many of whom have been with A/Z for a decade or more, operate as an extension of our clients and their representatives, providing the management needed to coordinate the overall project planning and construction efforts.
Traditional General Construction
Building on Our Reputation
A/Z remains a strong General Contractor with the ability to both self-perform all construction trades and utilize specialty sub-contractors as necessary. A/Z’s roots are in the construction of complex projects requiring a culture that promotes an injury-free environment and provides the safest workplace possible for our employees, subcontractors, clients, and others who enter or work near our construction sites.
